Primo Small Goods has just launched a new website showcasing Celebrity Chef Chris Budenoch preparing some meaty recipes. This is Stephan Mack Films third food project ending 2011 on a pretty tasty note. During preproduction we were looking for new and original ways to cover food video production. To this end a Go-Pro with a chest mount was mounted on chef Chris, to acquire unseen before cooking views. For the hero shots a Kessler Pocket Dolly with a Lens Baby mounted on a Cannon D5II were used, once again creating a very original look. “I absolutely love and so do my crew what you have done with our video recipes! I’m very excited…”. Responded Amy Pareezer –Creative Manager of Primo Small Goods.

Kangan Institute has recently launched an awareness campaign, comprising of four TVC’s airing on Victorian major Free To Air networks. Stephan Mack Films was commissioned by Smith & Rowe advertising agency, to come up with original copyright and then direct and produce the commercials. Part of Kangans marketing strategy for the campaign was to use real students and staff, so we took a more visual and practical approach from conception and on set implemented some simple yet very effective camera techniques to drive the ‘ Get Focused’ message home.

During Oct 2011 Turi Trust threw a gala ball supporting the Red Kite Foundation. The event was held at the Savoy Room at the Grand Hyatt in Melbourne. Stephan Mack Films was asked to donate a video that would show Pina Sutera, a courageous young woman talking about her tragic loss of her ten-year-old daughter ‘Jessica’ to cancer. “My compliments again for the wonderful job you did at the Turi Trust Ball — it was an incredible film and made a significant difference to the engagement of the guests and overall outcome on the night.” Terry Thomas, Relationship-Manager of Red Kite responded in a personal email. It’s an honour Terry and thanks Turi for the opportunity to contribute to such a worthy organisation.

In all my years, working with clients ranging from the ’small and emerging’ to ‘established multi - nationals’ I’ve never had such a pleasure and inspirational experience as I did working with Turi’s Company Director and marketing PA’s. Sounds like a ’suck-blog’, I know but when was the last time you rolled up your sleeves to help in the kitchen, despite having paid chefs, kitchen hands and willing crew?! Turi…hats off, the crew and I got inspired by your hard working down to earth ethos.

Its no big secret my peers and close community see me a bit of a renegade in the film business. And it’s no big secret I feel the same way. And now that all is said and done, I would greatly appreciate it and please allow me to behave in a manner of coyness, that I must go and shoot me some more high definition video. Yee ha….
Well!!! Wow…what can we say other than go go go girl. Oh yes, we’re talking here about no other than the one and only Leanne Tirei. With her new hit single ‘Believe In Your Dreams’ about to bust on to the international music scene. Shot entirely against green screen, Leanne will appear in an animated make-believe world where she gets to dance with her dream man. Directed by Zee Machine, who so graciously chose to hire Stephan Mack Films to accommodate for his production needs on set and for Stephan to DOP. Now in postproduction, watch out for Leanne’s enticing EVERYTHING on the likes of MTV and other popular music channels. We love you Leanne Xo… oh yes and Zee you are a machine.
Commissioned to direct and produce Dr. Malliga’s second DVD instalment on yoga and wellbeing. Stephan took with him a small crew and set out to various locations in Victoria. What proceeded was an engaging high-end look and feel that included majestic waterfalls, lakes and mesmerising rock formations, which Malliga was filmed against. The feedback from both Malliga and a test audience was phenomenal. The title of the DVD is ‘Secrets Of Staying Young’. Expect to find it at a health store or DVD rental shop near you in the near future.

Contracted to shoot highlights of the prestigious annual Caulfield Cup event held at the Caulfield racing track. Stephan was required to cover fashions on the field, engaging celebrities, high profile punters, models on the catwalk and on the course the real stars of the show racing around for all to marvel. The mesmerising images captured and interviews were then screen in front of the thirsty crowds and will also constitute the highlights package for the 2011 event. Look out! You may be on the big screen yourself.
